Anybody that knows me knows that I love Saturday Night Live! Even if I would miss it's original showing on Saturday, I would definitely catch during the week. Tonight Gabourey Sidibe is hosting along with musical performances from MGMT. If the promos are any indication of how funny the actual show is gonna be, tonight will be HI-LAR-IOUS!
Here are the promos:

*New Series* Mama Long Legs
My blog isn't called The Natural Glamazon for no reason. As a vertically blessed woman, I find it hard to shop for certain clothes that fit. I want to help other "Mama Long Legs" shop for clothes that fit instead of rolling every sleeve and leg up.
I know how frustrating it is when cute clothes go on sale and you're more lanky than average. It's truly a blessing and a curse. On one hand, you are carry weight way different than your shorter comrades, but then you have an awful hard time searching for things that fit. Trust me, I know the feeling.
Well, here at The Natural Glamazon, I want to highlight retailers that remember women come in all shapes, sizes, and heights. Think of it as paying it forward. I find a great place and I share the good news with you.
First up is Old Navy, who created a division specifically for the women who stands 5'10" and up. They carry longer inseams in their jeans, pants, shorts, and skirt. Their shirts and sweaters come with longer bodices and sleeves. Old Navy even has outerwear for the taller woman.
Buyer Heads Up: Please remember that Tall sizes are limited compared to regular sizes. Buy it if you like it because if you wait until a sale, you'll be stuck like Chuck!
Here's a sample oufit of what they carry:

"C'Mon Son"
I apologize for not blogging, but my first blog since being on hiatus has nothing to do with fashion or being natural. It has everything to do with advertisements that are unbelievable. I can only speak for myself, but I do not patronize products or stores if I know that the celebrity themselves doesn't use the said products. In the words of Mr. Ed Lover and his copyrighted phrase , "C'mon Son!"
Magic Johnson promotes Rent-A-Center
Source: Averagebro.com
If you are not familiar with either of the two, I will break it down very simply. A wealthy basketball turned entrepreneur (Magic Johnson) has been endorsing a company that rents appliances, furniture, and electronics and after so many payments you own the said property. It's sound innocent, but if you were to rent something from there after you finished paying it off, it will be outdated and you may have paid upwards of 3X what its actual retail value is.
Earvin "Magic" Johnson, why do you think is a good idea to endorse this company? Other than money or the possibility that you may own a few franchises, I can't come up with a good reason. You have to much money to be renting to own things. It's not even believable that you shop there. Why not give financial advice? That's something I can believe/ appreciate.
Tell people that instead of shopping at these stores, they should save up to buy that item. Saving money never put people in debt.
Ok, I ranted more than I thought I would. Well, this may become a series because I have more where that came from.
My Mom joined the Natural Circle!
I have great news! Ok, it maybe not so great for you, but I'm rejoice that my mom has decided to leave the "creamy crack" (relaxers) and embrace her natural texture. I like to compare it with when people join a church. Only this time we're winning curls not souls!
Just like any other newbie natural, the transition is hard. You have to figure out what to do with your hair, what to use, and what actually works for you individually. Luckily, I can help her because I know a lot from my own experience transitioning. Now, if I could only get her to cut her perm off! Until then I'll will be happy with this victory.
Happy New Year 2010!!
December 4th...Gotta pay my respects
Pimp C along with best friend Bun B formed the group Underground Kingz (bka UGK) and are jointly and respectively hailed as rap legends hailing from Port Arthur, Texas (P.A.T.). At the age of 33, Pimp C passed away on December 4, 2007. I, like many of his fans were shocked and saddened. Two years after his release from prison (Dec. 05) Pimp died and coincidentally this year, two years after his death, he would have been off parole (Dec. 2009). R.I.P. Pimp C...Forever Trill!
